Tun
Razak Exchange (TRX) is part of the Malaysian government’s Economic
Transformation Programme (ETP) aiming to further strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s role
as the country’s financial capital, by the creation of a central business
environment for financial services companies, multinational companies and
supporting ancillary businesses. This iconic 70-acre development encompasses a total of 26 buildings and over 21 million sqft
of total building Gross Floor Area (GFA) spread across office, residential,
hotel, retail, F&B and cultural offerings. TRX has a development period of
15 years to be completed in phases with the initial Phase 1 slated for
completion in 2017/2018.
The TRX
is organized into 4 quarters, each with its own distinguishing characteristic,
amenities and mix of tenants:
Financial Quarter
This quarter is the central business district of TRX, made up
of investment grade
A office space. They form the
solid backbone of TRX and will be the base of Kuala Lumpur’s first and only financial
district and a global centre for Islamic finance. The Financial Quarter will be
the heart of all key finance and business activities in Malaysia, with a
dedicated MRT station within walking distance.
Lifestyle Quarter
Located on the northern edge of the site, the Lifestyle
Quarter is the entertainment and F&B centre of TRX with 6 high-end serviced
apartments. It will also feature up to two luxury and business hotels and a
3-storey lifestyle retail mall of 2 million ft2 in floor space, filled with restaurants,
outdoor cafes and vibrant nightlife outlets. The Lifestyle Quarter will have
direct access to the integrated underground MRT interchange station, with the
views of the central urban park.
Park Quarter
The Park Quarter on the western parcel of TRX comprises a mix
of residential and office buildings that are refined and exclusive in design,
with a cultural centre and beautiful open spaces forming a distinctive and
family-friendly quarter in a serene and elegant setting.
Urban Quarter
The Urban Quarter sits on a separate parcel of the southern
site, across from Jalan Sultan Ismail, and is connected to the main TRX site
via a series of vehicular and pedestrian bridges and linkages. An integral part
of the overall TRX master plan, the Urban Quarter comprises a mix of
commercial, residential and retail offerings and will strategically complement
TRX’s business eco-system.
The
first phase of development of TRX is anchored by up to four investment grade A
office towers including the Signature Tower, a lifestyle retail mall, up to two
5-star hotels, up to six upscale residential towers, with 24% of the total site
area dedicated to open space, most of which will be made up of a large central
urban park.
TRX will be a natural extension to the Golden Triangle – the city’s commercial, entertainment and shopping belt supported by excellent infrastructure and connectivity, including Kuala Lumpur's largest MRT station, access to the MEX Highway, SMART Tunnel and other primary arteries of KL such as Jalan Tun Razak. The site is also in close proximity to the future Kuala Lumpur/Singapore High Speed Rail terminus, which will be located in Bandar Malaysia.
